On May 3rd Kindergarten will be putting on a PTA
performance called "Anything's Possible". If you would like a copy of the music so your child may practice at home, in the car, etc., please send in a blank CD-R with your child's name and Mrs. Moss written on it.
Please write PTA also on it.

The children are in the process of learning the songs for this performance, but they are also learning folk songs. If you would like a copy of the folk music for your child to practice send in a CD-R with childs name and Mrs. Moss written on it. Please write Folk Songs on this CD.

 

If you want both, please send two blank CD-Rs labeled with the

above information.

  Kindergarten teachers will be working at McDonald's tonight from 4-7!!!!!  Come see Mrs. Moss and Mrs. Shepard serve up some fries and shakes and support Meadowlark.  Come visit McDonald's tonight at the corner of Robin Hood Rd. and Meadowlark.

This week Meadowlark Elementary School is collecting money for the aid being sent to Haiti.  We have talked about the earthquake in our classroom and the kids understand that there are little boys and girls who need their help. 

 

Please have your child bring in any loose change or monies for our classroom collection.

The Mitten

We have read three versions of The Mitten this week.  We also decorated our own mittens and had to write descriptive sentences so our friends could guess who belonged to each mitten.  We measured our mittens and much, much more.  Watch the video for a small peek at the fun we had this week!

We started our CRYSTAL GARDEN today in the classroom.  Over the next few days we will be observing it, documenting what we observe, and taking pictures.  The students were so excited about doing a science experiment that at the Pla-doh station this afternoon, the two kids there said they were doing an experiment with Pla-doh.

It's Winter and we are studying all about The Mitten and the letter 'I'.  We are learning that short 'i' says /i/ as in Winter and igloo and that long 'i' says /I/ as in ice cream.  Ice cream is in our future for later in the week!
